Supporters and Sponsors

Warm Greetings!

The Computer Professionals’ Union (CPU) is a national organization of information & communications technology (ICT) practitioners established in response to the expressed need to understand the state of the ICT industry and advance the sector’s rights and welfare. It also seeks to empower grassroots organizations by integrating ICTs in their campaigns.

CPU has been engaged in advocacy work with regards to the implementation of the Automated Election System (AES) since the summer of 2009, coming out with research and analyses in the developments of its implementation. It has also provided voter education to over a thousand individuals in various schools, communities and organizations.

As it currently stands, COMELEC remains vastly unprepared in conducting the automated polls come May 10, and thus the people are encouraged to help monitor the elections. Under this context, CPU seeks to implement the following measures:

  • An incident monitoring tool called VoteReportPH, www.votereportph.org

  • An AES hotline to entertain queries of pollwatchers and citizen monitors, (+63 02 4401430)

  • A Technical Quick Reaction Team to support pollwatchers on the ground in case they encounter irregularities in the precinct or during canvassing; and

  • A live streaming team who will provide real-time coverage of a precinct

We greatly encourage you to provide support, be it financial or in kind, to help equip our volunteers. We need to provide laptops for our fraud mapping volunteers, USB modems for 3G connections, and food snacks for the entire duration of the monitoring, lasting from May 7 – May 13. If interested or if you have questions, our contact details can be found in the letterhead (T: +63 2 4401430 / rick at cp-union.com).

Thank you very much. We hope for your kind and immediate consideration.

Yours in Service,

Rick Bahague
